The government wants to oblige young athletes to pay Russian sports schools when transferring to foreign clubs

The government has introduced a bill to amend the Federal Law “On Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation” according to which athletes under the age of 23 will have to pay compensation if they want to transfer to a foreign club.

The authors of the bill point out that foreign sports organizations take advantage of gaps in Russian legislation and invite young Russian athletes to participate in competitions without transfer payments.
