Opposition activist Alexei Navalny won the Knight of Freedom Award in recognition of his extraordinary efforts to promote democratic values in Russia, a longstanding commitment to values such as freedom, justice, respect for the law and accountability to the Russian state system.
The Knight of Freedom 2021 award ceremony is scheduled for October 5, 2021, in Warsaw.
Alexei Navalny is in prison, the award will be accepted on his behalf by his associates Vladimir Milov and Leonid Volkov, and will be presented by the former president of the Republic of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
