The defendant in the “Network” case, accused of murder in the Ryazan forest said that he confessed under torture

Maxim Ivankin told his lawyers that he was forced under torture to confess to the murders of Yekaterina Levchenko and Artem Dorofeyev. He was charged with premeditated murder by prior conspiracy.
Immediately, when I was taken to the hospital, I was met by the “reds” (activists from among the prisoners)… Prisoners started beating me on the back of my head and on my kidneys… I can identify the activists… When I was required to sign a statement, I was put on a stretch for refusing to sign, and they beat me in this position… Maxim Ivankin
Ivankin stated that he testified fearing for his life. In addition, he was forced to refuse a lawyer and was not allowed to notify his relatives.
