In the Moscow metro, payment for travel with the help of a facial recognition system has started working

From October 15, it became possible to pay for a ride in the Moscow metro using the Face Pay facial recognition system.

The Face Pay payment system implies that a photo of the passenger’s face is converted into an encrypted biometric key.

Passengers who use Face Pay are promised fare discounts, but it is not yet reported.
