A resident of Volgograd was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for kidnapping people and selling them into slavery, investigators said.
In total, the case involved nine kidnappings and sales, the victims of which were three women and five men.
According to investigators, since 2016, the convict and his buddies, posing as police officers, forced people to get into their cars and then sold them to farmers and then forced them to engage in cattle ranching.
People were beaten and threatened with tasers to prevent them from escaping.
