A court in Moscow found Google guilty of repeatedly refusing to remove prohibited information and imposed a fine of more than 7.2 billion rubles ($97,776,000).
Meta (formerly Facebook) was fined almost 2 billion rubles ($27,160,000).
Both companies were found guilty for repeatedly committing the offense of failing to remove information by the owner of the Internet if the obligation to remove it is stipulated by Russian law.
Twitter, Telegram and TikTok have previously been fined for failure to remove prohibited content in Russia.
