The video shows Zouma throwing the animal to the floor and kicking it in front of a child. Zouma’s brother, who filmed the video, laughs behind the scenes.
The English team has fined him £250,000 and several major sponsors have announced that they are suspending their partnership with the club.
Regional police are investigating the incident. The cat has been removed from the family pending the investigation and is in the care of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
