The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has protested against Russia’s decision to block part of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, as well as the Kerch Strait under the pretext of a naval exercise.

The ministry said in a statement that this could cause negative consequences for Ukraine’s ports.
Most of the bodies of water will be closed to navigation, including merchant ships from third countries. Russia’s actions are called “part of the hybrid warfare.”

We are talking about about about half of the water area of the Sea of Azov, the Kerch Strait, the areas to the west and southwest of the annexed Crimea. Access to the port of Mariupol will be blocked and access to Odessa will be hindered.

Simultaneously with the naval exercises, exercises are taking place in Belarus and in the Southern Military District of Russia.
