On February 27, street battles began in Kharkiv. Numerous video recordings showed military equipment entering the city. Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Sinegubov urged citizens not to go out into the streets and not to leave places of shelter.

In previous days, Kharkiv had been subjected to shelling. One of the strikes on Sunday evening resulted in an explosion at a gas pipeline.

In the city of Vasylkiv near Kiev, an oil depot is on fire after a missile strike. This was confirmed by the mayor of the city, Natalya Balasinovich.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready for negotiations with Russia, but not in Belarus. Zelenski suggests Warsaw, Istanbul or Baku for negotiations.
