UN reports two million refugees from Ukraine

The number of refugees from Ukraine has reached two million since Russia began its special operation in Ukraine, the United Nations reports, the fastest growing crisis in Europe since World War II.

Since the Russian special operation began, some 900,000 Ukrainians have taken refuge in Poland and 150,000 in Hungary. The European Union expects to receive 2.5 to 6.5 million refugees on its territory.

In a day, 132,000 people left the country on the western section of the Ukrainian border alone.
