On July 12, the DPR embassy will open in Moscow. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the self-proclaimed republic. This will be the first representative office of the "DNR" in another country.
The opening ceremony will be attended by official representatives of Russia, the “LPR”, unrecognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Syria, which recognized the “LDPR” on June 29, “as well as a number of other diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Moscow.”
“In addition, scientists, education, culture, sports, representatives of the business sector, public organizations, the media of Russia and foreign countries are invited,” the message says.
The address of the embassy is unknown.
Despite the connection of the “LDNR” with Moscow, Russia legally recognized the existence of the republics only before the start of the war on February 24th. Previously, there were no diplomatic relations between the country and the self-proclaimed republics: the post of “DNR” ambassador to Russia was established on May 6, and was taken by Olga Makeyeva, a Donetsk lawyer. Whether the Russian embassy in the “DPR” will appear in response is unknown: in April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the “DPR” Natalya Nikonorova claimed that this would happen “within a month”, but since then there has been no news about this.
