Roskomnadzor blocked the publication of "Nimage" in Russia for an article about the crimes of the Russian army in Ukraine.
The article presents interviews with human rights organizations and volunteers who have already documented more than 10 thousand crimes on the territory of Ukraine.
According to the publication, the decision to enter the register was officially made on June 23, but in reality, the blocking began on June 14. The Layout project was launched on April 26. “The media appeared as a quick response to the destruction of Russian media during the war with Ukraine,” the authors of the publication write.
After the outbreak of the war, Roskomnadzor demanded that the events in Ukraine be called a "special operation." Since February 24, The Insider, Radio Liberty, Current Time, Krym.Realii, Voice of America, New Times, Taiga.info, DOXA, Ekho Moskvy, Dozhd have been blocked in Russia , Meduza, BBC Russian Service, Deutsche Welle and others. TV channel "Rain", radio "Echo of Moscow" and the Tomsk agency TV2 decided to stop working. In most cases, the block was initiated by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.
Roskomnadzor also blocked the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And the court recognized the activities of the American corporation Meta as extremist and banned it in Russia.
