The Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don delivered sentences to three defendants in the Hizb-ut-Tahrir case – cook Ernest Ibragimov, businessman Oleg Fedorov and builder Ismet Ibragimov. Writes about this "Crimean Solidarity".
Cook Ernest Ibragimov and businessman Oleg Fedorov were sentenced to 13 years in prison, of which the first 3.5 years in prison, and another 1 year of restriction of freedom of movement in the wild. Builder Ismet Ibragimov was sentenced to 19 years in prison, of which the first 5 years in prison, and 2 years of movement restrictions after his release.
According to the FSB, Fedorov attended secret meetings of Hizb ut-Tahrir, where he discussed extremist literature and the construction of a caliphate. However, the audio recordings provided as evidence do not contain his voice. The lawyers identified the person on the recording as Rustem Murasov, also accused in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case. Despite the fact that Murasov himself admitted this, the court did not allow him to be interrogated as a witness.
In addition, the court did not take into account the violation in the case of Ismet Ibragimov, who was subjected to an unauthorized search at an erroneous address.
Hizb ut-Tahrir is an international Islamic political organization banned in Russia in 2003 as a terrorist organization. In 2019, 25 members of the organization, Crimean Muslim Muslims, were arrested in Crimea. Each of them was charged with terrorism (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and preparations for the seizure of power on the peninsula (Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The first 15 of them were sentenced on March 10 , March 18 and May 12 , 2022. All defendants in the case received terms from 12 to 19 years in prison.
