The United States will provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $368 million, according to a statement on the website of the State Department.
The money will go to food, drinking water, housing and medicine. The statement also says that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the United States has provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine totaling $1.28 billion.
The day before, Joe Biden announced an additional $400 million military assistance package for Ukraine. It will include four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and ammunition, three tactical vehicles, 155-mm artillery ammunition, explosive ammunition, counter-battery systems , spare parts for military equipment and other equipment. According to the US Department of Defense, the country has already allocated about $8 billion in security assistance.
