Ukraine once every three days asks Russia to open an evacuation corridor from Melitopol, but she refuses – the mayor of the city

Ukraine every three days asks the Russian Ministry of Defense to open green corridors for evacuation from Melitopol, but is refused. This was told by the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov.

According to him, now there are from 60 to 70 thousand people left in the city:

“Unfortunately, there is no centralized evacuation, because the rashists, for obvious reasons, do not coordinate the evacuation. They need the inhabitants of the city to use them as a "human shield". Once every two or three days, our ministries, our Office of the President sends a request to the Russian Ministry of Defense with a demand to make a green corridor and make an evacuation convoy, but the rashists do not agree on this.”

Fedorov urged residents of the city who have such an opportunity to evacuate. According to him, it is not safe to stay in Melitopol due to the growing humanitarian crisis:

“Especially after the gas went out last night. Big problems with electricity are also expected due to the fact that two days ago the Russians completely captured the electrical networks. Today there are no dispatchers. The first accident – and the city will be completely left without energy.

In early July, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the Russian military base in Melitopol, killing 200 Russian soldiers and injuring 300 more. After that, Fedorov reported that the Russians completely blockaded the city from five in the morning until four in the evening: "The city was completely blocked, and all its inhabitants were held hostage."
