As a result of a rocket attack on the center of the Ukrainian city of Vinnitsa, 22 people were killed, including three children. Only 6 of the dead were identified, the National Police of Ukraine reports on its Facebook page. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the information.
July 15 in Vinnitsa and the region was declared a day of mourning.
About 100 people received injuries of various degrees of severity. In total, 39 people remain on the list of missing people as a result of rocket attacks on Vinnitsa, the report says. The National Police added that DNA examinations may be needed to identify the faces of the dead, investigators are asking the direct relatives of the missing to get in touch.
More than 50 buildings and more than 40 cars were also damaged in the city. Serhiy Gaidysh, the head of the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, said that previously, the strike was carried out by two Kalibr-type missiles, marked 3M-14E, weighing 1,770 kg.
According to The Insider, due to the impact, the medical center, which was part of the Yubileiny household, was completely burned down. Information about the dead and injured workers is being specified.
Among the victims of the attack on Vinnitsa is a musician from the team of the Ukrainian singer ROXOLANA, who was supposed to perform a concert at the House of Officers. Her concert was scheduled for July 14 as part of a charity tour, while propagandist Margarita Simonyan claimed that "Nazis" were allegedly based in the local House of Officers. The artist said on her Instagram page that at the time of the impact, her team was in the city center: one musician died, the other is in intensive care.
Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities reported a strike on the center of Vinnytsia by Russian Caliber cruise missiles launched from a submarine in the Black Sea. According to the latest data, the death toll from the rocket attack on Vinnitsa has risen to 20 people, among the dead – three children. The Russian Ministry of Defense explained the missile attack on Vinnitsa by the fact that "Nazis" were allegedly based in the local House of Officers. On July 9, the Russian military attacked Chasovoy Yar.
