The State Duma approved Denis Manturov for the post of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade

The State Duma at an extraordinary meeting approved the candidacy of the Minister of Industry Denis Manturov for the post of Deputy Prime Minister. The day before, Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the prime minister will now have 11 deputies, including the deputy prime minister – the minister of industry and trade.

Earlier, Kommersant, citing sources, wrote that "the main reason for the promotion of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is the need to dramatically speed up the government's work on import substitution."

On July 13, it became known that Vladimir Putin's daughter, General Director of the National Intellectual Development Foundation Katerina Tikhonova, will become co-chair of the coordinating council for import substitution at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

In June, Manturov commented on the decision of the Swedish company IKEA to leave Russia with the phrase “it’s a pity for the bee.” He made such a statement on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
