Businessmen Kolomoisky and Korban were deprived of Ukrainian passports. Korban not allowed back to Ukraine

Ukrainian businessman and politician Gennady Korban, who also headed the defense of the Dnepropetrovsk region, was not allowed into Ukraine after a decree was published depriving him of Ukrainian citizenship. A video appeared on social networks where Ukrainian border guards take away his Ukrainian passport, explaining that his citizenship has been suspended.

“Now I can’t enter with any document: neither with a military ID, nor with Die, in any way. In fact, stuck here in the border zone. Lawyers are now sorting it out, because it is not clear under what document, for example, I can return back to Poland, ”Korban himself commented on the incident.

This video was published the day after a copy of the decree of Vladimir Zelensky appeared on the network (two sources of The Insider close to the president confirmed the existence of such a decree). It refers to the deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship of 9 people, including oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, co-chairman of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Vadim Rabinovich and head of the subcommittee on maritime transport of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Transport and Infrastructure Igor Vasilkovsky.

The law of Ukraine allows deprivation of citizenship of people who have received citizenship of another state.

Kolomoisky is a former governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region. Since March last year, he and his family have been under US sanctions. Earlier, Kolomoisky admitted that, in addition to Ukrainian, he has two more foreign citizenships (Cyprus and Israel). He explained why, in his opinion, this is not a violation: “The law prohibits dual citizenship, but triple citizenship is not.”

Gennady Korban was the deputy head of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration in 2014, when Kolomoisky headed it. With the outbreak of the war, he left Ukraine on the basis of paternity of minor children. Vadim Rabinovich was abroad in March, but stated that he was looking for an opportunity to return to Ukraine.
