Information is spreading on social networks about the involvement of the military correspondent of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Alexander Sladkov in a fatal accident in the Luhansk region. On July 13, 2022, in the village of Varvarovka (under the control of the forces of the so-called “LNR”), a car hit a man to death. According to Ukrainian journalist Denis Kazansky on his Telegram channel, one of his subscribers asked him to find a woman who witnessed the accident.
Kazansky posted the full text of the appeal:
"Help me find a man! Missing Lyubov Vasilievna Gromova, born in 1975. She lived in Varvarovka, Luhansk region. People say that on July 13, she witnessed an accident, a jeep hit a man to death. This was just taken by a neighbor. The next day, they saw how some car arrived, people in military uniforms with machine guns got out and they took it somewhere. The phone is not answered. We don’t know where to turn, the new police are silent.”
The journalist also posted a video, allegedly taken immediately after the incident, in which a female witness reports the make and number of the car responsible for the accident: a black Toyota SUV with the number P042.
This description fits the car donated on July 11 to military commissar Alexander Sladkov. The plot about this was published in the program “Vesti. Don", but was deleted (according to the Google cache , the material was deleted no earlier than July 12; screenshots, where the P042NR number is clearly visible, are available in Denis Kazansky's post, and a saved copy of the story can be found here ).
Alexander Sladkov commented on the incident in the Telegram channel in two rather strange videos. In the first, he ironically admits to being "discovered".
In another video, recorded right in the pool, Sladkov says that he “didn’t pressure anyone”, “was in a different place at that time” and “wasn’t in the LPR for a long time.”
At the same time, Sladkov does not provide any information about the Toyota SUV (for example, a photo indicating the absence of damage) and the reasons for removing the television story about it.
Alexander Sladkov is a Russian military commissar who has been working for the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company since the early 1990s. He is one of the most popular Russian pro-government propagandists, specializing in covering military conflicts. More than 895 thousand people have subscribed to his Telegram channel, where he regularly posts materials about the war in Ukraine.
