TASS reported that since the beginning of the war, 2.8 million people have come to Russia from Ukraine. Ukraine says they were forcibly taken away

TASS, citing a source in law enforcement agencies , reported that after the start of the war, more than 2.8 million people came to Russia from Ukraine, including 448,000 children. According to the source of TASS, half of them are residents of the "LPR" and "DPR".

TASS in its publication calls these Ukrainians refugees who independently arrived in Russia. However, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly said that these people were taken out of Ukraine by force.

So, on July 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that 2 million Ukrainians were taken to Russia. According to him, their communications equipment and documents are taken from them, as well as intimidated and taken to remote areas of the country to complicate their return home.

All forcibly deported Ukrainians are forced by the Russian military to go through filtration camps. The US has discovered at least 18 such sites. They were trained on both sides of the Ukrainian-Russian border even before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, according to US officials.
