Almost a million people were evacuated from Ukraine to Germany during the war

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, more than 915 thousand people have been evacuated from Ukraine to Germany. According to the German Interior Ministry, 890,605 of them are citizens of Ukraine. How many refugees still remain in Germany is unknown.

Of the nearly one million people, 65.7% are women. Among adult refugees, 75.6% are women and 23.9% are men. 339,799 people are minors, most of whom are of primary school age (from 6 to 11 years old, 129,503 people). 120,154 refugees are between 12 and 17 years old, and 69,022 people are over 64 years old.

According to the UN, almost 6 million people left Ukraine during the war. Most of them – 1.7 million – went to Russia, 1.2 million – to Poland. Germany ranks third on the list, followed immediately by the Czech Republic, where nearly 400,000 Ukrainian refugees have been registered.

On July 24, TASS, citing a source in law enforcement agencies , reported that more than 2.8 million people came to Russia from Ukraine after the start of the war. The publication calls them refugees who entered Russia at will. In fact, many of them were forcibly removed, as various testimonies indicate and human rights activists and the Ukrainian side regularly talk about.
