Germany handed over three MLRS MARS-II to Ukraine

Germany has handed over three MARS-II multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine, German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht said .

Ukraine also received three PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, IRIS-T air defense systems and three armored recovery vehicles from Germany.

According to media reports, Germany is also preparing to send the IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine.

In July, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov acknowledged that the “geographical objectives” of the “special operation” had changed due to the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine. According to Lavrov, now the tasks include not only the “DPR” and “LPR”, but also the Kherson, Zaporozhye regions and a number of other territories. According to him, tasks will be moved further from the current line as the West supplies Ukraine with long-range weapons.

In turn, US President Joe Biden announced an additional $400 million military aid package for Ukraine.
