Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has announced his retirement. He will retire from Formula 1 at the end of the season

Aston Martin driver and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has decided to retire at the end of the 2022 season. This was reported on the official website of the Aston Martin team.

Explaining his decision, the 35-year-old racer said he wants to spend more time with his family and devote himself to raising children.

“Over the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of working with many great people in Formula 1 – too many to be mentioned and thanked. <…> The decision to end my career was difficult for me, I thought about it for a long time. At the end of the year, I want to spend more time thinking about what I'm going to do next. Obviously, as a father, I want to spend more time with my family,” said 35-year-old Vettel.

Vettel is one of the most decorated Formula 1 drivers of all time. He four times – in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 – became the world champion with the Red Bul team. During his career, in total, Vettel won 53 Grands Prix and 57 starts from pole position. He won his first prize at the age of 23 and became the youngest champion of the “royal races” in history.
