A video of the torture of a Ukrainian prisoner appeared on the network, allegedly filmed on the territory of the Azot plant, captured by Russian troops in June. The footage was published , among other things, by the Moscow calling Telegram channel.
The channels claim that in the video, among others, there is an Akhmat fighter. According to other sources, he is a fighter of the Sever volunteer battalion, which was formed in Chechnya. In the footage, a fighter cuts off the genitals of a bound soldier lying on the ground with a clerical knife. When he tries to resist, they kick him in the head and hold him so that he does not twitch.
Later, the participant in the video who took part in the torture was identified on the RIA Novosti video, he appeared in the same cowboy hat in one of the reports of the propaganda agency. A video with him was posted on the Telegram channel on June 27. In the plot, the soldiers of Akhmat and the People's Militia of the LPR talk about the "cleansing" of the Azot plant.
Earlier, the international human rights organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) published a report on the war crimes of the Russian army in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine. The document refers to the torture, abductions and murders of civilians and prisoners of war in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Dozens of people from Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Skadovsk and ten other cities confirmed to human rights defenders the facts of torture, as well as the possible involvement of the military in the disappearance of civilians.
