“Gazprom” stopped gas supplies to Latvia

"Gazprom" stopped gas supplies to Latvia on July 30 as part of the July application "due to violation of the conditions for gas withdrawal." This was reported by the press service of the company.

Earlier, Bloomberg sources claimed that Russia is likely to keep gas supplies to the European Union at a minimum level, increasing pressure on it due to sanctions. Officially, the Russian authorities cite the repair of a turbine, which Gazprom did not receive from Canada, as the reason for the reduction in gas supplies. However, in reality, Moscow is using supply disruptions to encourage European countries to “reconsider painful sanctions” and support Ukraine in the war.

The Kremlin and Gazprom will continue to find formal reasons to restrict the flow of gas to Europe, preventing European consumers from building up supplies for their winter consumption, the sources said.
