Arson could have been the cause of a major fire at an Ozon warehouse in the Moscow region. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in emergency services. “According to eyewitnesses, the warehouse could have been set on fire in several places. Arson is one of the versions. Until the fire is extinguished, it is premature to talk about more precise causes. We need to look where the hearth was and so on, ”said the source of the agency. The fire safety check of the warehouse was not carried out, as it was commissioned last year.
President of the All-Russian Union of Insurers Igor Yurgens reported that the preliminary damage from the fire can be estimated at more than 10 billion rubles. The building and the goods in it are insured for 17 billion rubles. Ozon itself said that sellers and buyers will receive compensation.

A fire pumping station was involved in the firefighting, an additional Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Emergencies Ministry was put on alert, the department added. According to the latest data, one person died, 13 were injured, two of them were hospitalized. Earlier it was reported about 11 victims. Ambulance crews and the territorial center for disaster medicine continue to work on the spot. An investigation into the fire has been launched.
