Trade Union of Journalists fined 500,000 rubles for “discrediting” the Russian army

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the Trade Union of Journalists (PJ) 500,000 rubles for publications “in support of Ukraine.” This is the minimum amount of a fine under the article on “discrediting” the Russian army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

The reason for the fine was two publications of the PJ. The first is the “Perugia Declaration” in support of Ukraine, the second is the demand to stop the war, published on February 24.

“There is no and cannot be any justification for this war. We will have to deal with its consequences for many years, if not decades. We demand an immediate withdrawal of troops and an end to the military operation in Ukraine!” – said in a publication dated February 24.

The site of PZh is blocked in Russia, so the judge was not able to view it. At the same time, the screenshots of the site filed with the case were not certified, but all this did not prevent the decision.

In mid-July, the action of the pancreas was suspended in Russia. On August 3, the Moscow City Court will consider the suit of the prosecutor's office to liquidate the organization.
