For the first time since the beginning of the war, a foreign vessel arrived in Ukraine as part of the grain agreement

For the first time since February 24, a vessel under a foreign flag arrived in Ukraine. This is a bulk carrier Fulmar S flying the flag of Barbados, which entered the Ukrainian port for loading under a grain agreement.

“We can already state that thanks to the efforts of the President of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure and our partners – the UN and Turkey – the “grain corridor” has earned access to and entry to the ports of Ukraine,” Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov wrote on his Facebook.

He did not specify which port the ship entered, but earlier the speaker of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Sergei Bratchuk, reported that it was moving towards the port of Chernomorsk near Odessa. People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Goncharenko wrote that the ship entered the port of Yuzhny.

According to Kubrakov, in two weeks Ukraine plans to reach the loading level of at least 3-5 ships per day. “Our goal is to reach the monthly volume of transshipment in the ports of Big Odessa at 3 million tons of agricultural products,” he said.

An agreement on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports was signed by Moscow and Kiev on July 22 in Istanbul with the participation of the UN. Grain will be delivered from three ports – Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny. The day after the signing of the treaty, Odessa was subjected to rocket fire, as a result of which a fire started in the local port. The first ship with grain left the port of Odessa and went to Lebanon on August 1.
