YouTube blocked the Rostec channel. This was reported in the state corporation with reference to the notification of Google. The reasons for the blocking are not reported.
Rostec noted that they were preparing for the blocking, and managed to transfer “more than 230 videos” to the Russian RuTube site. The corporation also notes in a statement that the Rostec channel had “hundreds of thousands of viewers a year” and almost 45,000 subscribers.
In May, the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, reported to Vladimir Putin that the corporation had completed the development of 233 innovative products, issued 834 patents and 474 know-how, and attracted 170 billion rubles of investment in research and development work. Later in July, Putin said that Rostec had shown "modest results" in terms of fifth-generation (5G) networking projects and the development of microelectronics.
Chemezov also admitted dependence on foreign technologies and urged to love Russian. However, the head of the state-owned company said that he "remains optimistic", as he sees a "window of opportunity" in the current situation.
Chemezov boasted in June that over the past 13 years under his leadership, the company's revenue has quadrupled, from 500 billion rubles in 2009 to 2 trillion in 2021. However, the company's real revenue has less than doubled: 500 billion rubles in 2021 prices is 1.09 trillion rubles, while the company's net profit in 2021 amounted to only 163.5 billion rubles.
The income of Chemezov himself, at the same time, is quite large. He and his relatives own luxury real estate in Moscow, as well as villas in the Spanish gated community of S'Agaro on the Mediterranean coast, and a superyacht. In the Russian capital, Chemezov owns an apartment worth about 5 billion, it occupies two floors in the building of the Four Seasons hotel on Okhotny Ryad. The apartment consists of two rooms, on the 12th and 13th floors. The total area is 1434 m².
