Production of Bayraktar drones will begin directly in Ukraine

The Turkish company Baykar will build a plant for the production of Bayraktar strike drones in Ukraine, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar said .

According to him, Baykar has already created a company in Ukraine and acquired a land plot for construction, and a week ago the government approved a bilateral agreement and sent it to parliament for ratification.

“To make production in Ukraine was almost a personal obligation of the company's owners,” Bodnar emphasized.

The ambassador added that Ukrainian companies producing engines, wheels and spare parts will be involved in the production of Bayraktar in Ukraine.

In July, Baykar rejected Vladimir Putin's proposal to build a plant for the production of drones in Russia. The director and co-owner of the company is Selçuk Bayraktar , who is the son-in-law of the President of Turkey.

On July 18, Baykar chief executive Haluk Bayraktar said in an interview with CNN that he supports Ukraine in its struggle for sovereignty and independence and will never allow Bayraktar drones to be sold to Russia.
