The Basmanny Court closed the hearing on choosing a preventive measure for Marina Ovsyannikova, Sota reports . This decision was explained as a “secret investigation”, since not all the data was collected to the end.
Ovsyannikova was charged under the article “Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov said . The article provides for punishment of up to 10 years in prison. Today, the court must choose a measure of restraint for her.
On August 10, Ovsyannikova's house was searched.
In March, during the evening news broadcast on Channel One, Ovsyannikova appeared in the frame behind the back of the presenter Ekaterina Andreeva with a poster “Stop the war! Don't believe the propaganda, they lie to you here."
The next day, Ovsyannikova was fined. She left for Germany, but returned to Russia in July. After that, she was fined twice under the article about “discrediting” the army – for a post on Facebook and for a comment that she gave at the court on the day the measure of restraint was chosen for Ilya Yashin.
On July 15, Ovsyannikova staged a picket in the center of Moscow. In her hands she held a poster with the inscription “Putin is a killer” and a mention of Ukrainian children killed by Russia.
