The founder of the FBK, Alexei Navalny , filed another lawsuit against his colony in Melehovo: he demanded that the warning that he received in the colony for creating a trade union be recognized as illegal.
On August 11, Navalny announced that he had created the Promzona trade union for prisoners and employees of the colonies, about which he notified the director of the Federal Penitentiary Service and the head of the colony in writing.
“Well, why not? I am a prison worker. Seamstress. And other prisoners are also workers. And the guards are also employees of the colony. In terms of labor rights, we are no different. We can create a trade union to protect our rights,” Navalny wrote.
Immediately after that, the administration of the colony called the creation of a trade union "illegal" and warned the oppositionist against committing a "crime".
Navalny also said that the union already has a victory: the administration has changed the stools in the sewing shop for more comfortable chairs.
A day earlier, Navalny filed a lawsuit against the same colony because of the refusal to disclose information about the customer of the products that the prisoners produce.
