Due to explosions in the Dzhankoy region of Crimea, the railway was damaged. Passengers from trains will be transferred to buses – Aksenov

The railway in the Dzhankoysky district of Crimea was damaged “due to the detonation of ammunition” in a warehouse near the village of Mayskoye, TASS reports citing emergency services. The “head” of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, in turn, said that due to damage, passenger trains coming from the mainland would be stopped at Vladislavovka station.

There, passengers will be provided with buses for "delivery to the nearest bus stations."

According to the source of TASS, the railway track was damaged between the stations "Azov" and "Razezd 10th kilometer". Three trains carrying 2,000 people have already been detained.

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Ukrainian Civic Chamber , called the explosions "demilitarization in action":

“The morning near Dzhankoy began with explosions. Let me remind you once again that the Crimea of a normal country is about the Black Sea, mountains, recreation and tourism. And the Crimea occupied by Russian militants is about the explosions of warehouses and the growing mortal danger for invaders and thieves. Demilitarization in action.

The explosions became known on the morning of August 16, the Crimean authorities announced the "detonation of ammunition" in a warehouse in the village of Maiskoye, Dzhankoy district. About 2,000 residents were evacuated from the village. There was also another explosion – at a transformer substation, where the fire had already been extinguished: one was crushed by a wall, the other received a shrapnel wound.

Earlier, satellite images were published showing the site of the explosions near the military airport in Novofedorivka on August 9. The footage shows burnt Russian equipment: more than ten Su-24M and Su-30SM. In total, Russia lost military equipment in the amount of $ 120 million to $ 220 million. At the same time, before the publication of the pictures, propagandist Margarita Simonyan claimed that "several ammunition detonated, no one was injured, the equipment was also intact."

Later it turned out that one person died in the explosions, at least 13 were injured . The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that it was the detonation of ammunition in a warehouse, the ministry denies the fact of shelling. The New York Times published an article citing a “Ukrainian military source”, which suggests that the UAF may be behind the explosions. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that the Ukrainian army could have hit the airfield with Neptune anti-ship missiles, but there is no evidence for this version.
