In Kazan, the security forces came with searches to seven journalists at once, the pro-government portal Tatar-inform reports .
We are talking about journalists collaborating with the publications Vechernyaya Kazan, Tatpolit, Novaya Gazeta. Europe” and “Idel.Realities”. The names of the journalists are not given, but judging by the description, it can be assumed that the search was carried out, in particular, at the journalist Marina Yudkevich (a screenshot of her column in Idel.Realii is provided). The portal claims that during the search they found a large amount of money “in foreign currency” from her, and that she transferred money to the supporter of Alexei Navalny, Leonid Volkov.
According to the portal, the searches are related to the case “on justifying terrorism and violence against government officials.”
Earlier it became known that a search took place at the residence of a sociologist and columnist for Idel.Realii, Iskander Yasaveev, after which he was taken away for interrogation to the Investigative Committee. The security forces came to Yasaveyev's apartment at 6 am. During the search, his mobile phones were confiscated from him and his family members.
The publication links the search with Yasaveev's columns. One of the last columns on the publication's website is called "Tomboy or Soviet: why is Russia fighting?".
