It is expected that Denmark will begin to help with the restoration and reconstruction of Nikolaev in September. This was stated by the head of the Nikolaev OVA Vitaly Kim following a meeting with the Minister of Development and Cooperation of the Nordic countries of Denmark Flemming Meller Mortensen.
It was also attended by the chairman of the Nikolaev regional council Anna Zamazeeva and the Nikolaev mayor Alexander Senkevich. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
“We considered concrete steps to support Dania Nikolaev and the region for sustainability, recovery and reconstruction. He showed the consequences of the destruction of residential buildings, social infrastructure and critical infrastructure. But our path is recovery. Therefore, the most important emphasis was placed on the restoration of our region, ”Kim writes on his Facebook.
The fact that Denmark will help restore Nikolaev became known back in May. In July, a Danish representative at an international conference on the restoration of Ukraine announced that Denmark would allocate €13.5 million for a project in the field of heat supply in Mykolaiv. At the same time, he said that Denmark had already transferred humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine for more than €400 million.
In July, Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine , said that Mykolaiv was the third city in terms of the number of missile attacks inflicted on it. On the first two – Izyum and Mariupol.
