In the city of Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad region of Ukraine, the head of the regional department of the SBU, Alexander Nakonechny, was found dead, reports Obozrevatel.
According to the publication, on August 20, at about 22:50, his wife found his body with a penetrating gunshot wound in an apartment on Tarkovsky Street.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and examined the body. The circumstances of death are established. The publication, citing sources, writes that "we can talk about suicide." According to the preliminary version, Nakonechny shot himself with a premium pistol.
Nakonechny held the rank of lieutenant colonel and has served as head of department since January 2021. Prior to his appointment, he worked for two years in the counterintelligence department and for more than ten years in the anti-corruption and organized crime unit of the Kyiv headquarters of the SBU.
