This decision was made after "close observation" of the development of the situation (military operations in Ukraine).

At the end of July, the Russian Association of Cinema Owners asked for an exemption from liability for showing foreign films without the consent of film companies in order to leave a "window of opportunity for showing Hollywood content."

On July 23, it became known that the IMAX corporation, which provides the cinematic system of the same name, left Russia. In early July, Universal Pictures announced the closure of its Russian business.
