Investigators concluded that the car in which Darya Dugin, the daughter of the philosopher-propagandist Alexander Dugin, was driving, was monitored and blew it up remotely, TASS reports , citing a law enforcement source.
According to Mash, people with impersonal phones followed Dugina's car. Sources close to the investigation claim that the explosive device in the car went off after a call from one of these phones.
The car of 29-year-old Darya Dugina exploded on the evening of August 20 in the Moscow region, when she was returning from the Tradition festival in the Zakharovo estate near Moscow. The explosion thundered just 10 minutes after the car drove onto the road, near the village of Bolshie Vyazemy, on the Mozhaisk highway. Dugina was driving, she died on the spot.
Friends of Alexander Dugin claim that he himself was supposed to go in the car, but at the last moment he changed his mind and got into another car. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article "murder committed in a generally dangerous way."
The car bomb was allegedly planted in the estate's parking lot. The day before, REN TV reported , citing sources, that surveillance cameras had not been working in the parking lot for two weeks.
“At the moment, it has already been established that an explosive device was planted under the bottom of the car on the driver's side. <…> Taking into account the data already received, the investigation believes that the crime was pre-planned and is custom-made, ”the IC said in a statement.
