The editors of the publication TJ announced that it was stopping work. This announcement was posted on social media:
“Hi readers and users of TJ. We have important but sad news: our project is closing. As much as we would like it, this is not a joke or clickbait. The last day of our publication is September 10th.
It turns out that we will leave at around 11 years, 2 months and 21 days. All this time we have tried to be guides to the world of Internet culture, new technologies and how the world around us is changing.
However, it happened on February 24, and then the blocking. A few months after the start of the war, funds for the development and support of TJ ran out. Phased reductions, including staff, did not help.
We tried in every possible way to save the project and believed that we were doing an important job in a scorched glade of Russian-language media. Alas".
The publication's website has been blocked since mid-March for its coverage of the war.
