Andrei Kuraev was fined under the article on discrediting the army

Protodeacon Andrei Kuraev was fined under an article about discrediting the army. The reason for the administrative case was an article by Kuraev, published in his LiveJournal. In it, he quoted the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, recalling that, according to it, the conduct of an aggressive war is punishable by imprisonment for a term of ten to twenty years.

“Various lawyers are telling me in chorus that it is time to evacuate: the second trial threatens with a real prison term. To be honest, I don't want to leave. I'll try to get on the path to recovery. What I think about what it is impossible to think and talk about, I have already said. And he paid the court for his words, ”Kuraev commented on the fine.

Earlier today (August 23), it also became known that Moscow municipal deputy Konstantin Yankauskas was charged under the same article for a post in which he quoted the prayer of the Pope.

According to human rights activists' estimates in July, the police in Russia drew up more than 3,000 protocols discrediting the army.
