The pro-Russian administration of Energodar announced that the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was disconnected from the Ukrainian energy system due to shelling. The messages of the "authorities" (VGA) are cited by propaganda publications, including RIA Novosti , Interfax and TASS .
The reports claim that the supply of energy to the territory of Ukraine is suspended due to damage to the power transmission line (power line) as a result of shelling.
“Specialists on site report that, given the technological features, the output power generated by the power units varies.”
The "administration" added that the fifth and sixth power units of the nuclear power plant are in working order, the radiation background is normal.
Energoatom and the Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the situation at the time of writing.
Earlier, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, after visiting the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, said that there were holes and damage in the walls of the station buildings due to shelling. According to him, the physical integrity of the nuclear power plant is of concern, as fighting continues in Ukraine.
The IAEA delegation arrived at the Zaporozhye NPP on September 1. It consists of experts from Poland, Lithuania, China, France and countries other than Russia and the USA. The bulk of the delegation left the same day. The remaining experts remained at the station to assess the operation of the equipment and to inspect the working conditions of the station's employees. The head of the IAEA, Grossi, said that the mission received key information about the situation at the plant in a few hours at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, he was quoted by TASS. He denies that the invaders of the station are manipulating the experts and could not show them everything they needed at the ZNPP.
