More than 50,000 Russian servicemen have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the war – General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Since February 24, the start of the war in Ukraine, more than 50,000 Russian servicemen have died. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

According to the General Staff, the total combat losses of the Russian Federation personnel amounted to approximately 51,250 people.

Also, since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost 2112 tanks, 4557 armored fighting vehicles, 1226 artillery systems and 305 MLRS. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine report on the loss of 159 air defense systems, 239 aircraft and 210 helicopters, 884 UAVs by Russia. The list of the General Staff among the losses of the Russian Federation also includes cruise missiles (214), ships and boats (15), automotive equipment and tankers (3344) and special equipment (110).

The greatest losses, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia suffered in the Donetsk direction.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense has twice reported on the death of Russian servicemen – according to the latest data, 1,351 soldiers died. In early June, the BBC Russian Service, citing a high-ranking representative of Western intelligence agencies, claimed that the number of Russian military dead during the war in Ukraine could reach 20,000. On August 19, journalists from the BBC Russian Service and Mediazona confirmed the names of 5,701 Russian servicemen who died in the war in Ukraine. Most of the losses were in Dagestan (270 people), Buryatia (245 people) and the Krasnodar Territory (206 people).
