The Ministry of Finance proposed to classify all public procurement

The Ministry of Finance wants to classify information on public procurement of departments and procurement of state-owned companies. This proposal was made by Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Lavrov. According to him, open information about tenders is no longer needed, because the public procurement sector has reached its transparency. He announced this at the Moscow Financial Forum.

“Having achieved transparency (of all processes in the field of public procurement and procurement of state-owned companies), one might think that the relevant information would be available only to professionally interested participants, and would not be available in the same blogosphere and could not be used, including for unseemly purposes” , Lavrov said.

According to Lavrov, "serious businesses" that are afraid of Western sanctions are requesting the disclosure of information.

In the spring of this year, the authorities adopted amendments to the law “On the Procurement of Goods, Works, Services by Certain Types of Legal Entities” (223-FZ), which allowed state-owned companies under sanctions to post procurement information in the Unified Information System, but without posting it on the main website.
