Instead of recognizing the retreat in the Kharkov direction, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced a “regrouping”

The Russian Ministry of Defense actually recognized the retreat in the Kharkov direction, calling it a "regrouping" of Russian troops from the Balakleya and Izyum regions for a "build-up" in the Donetsk direction. The messages appeared on the department's Telegram channel, as well as in the propaganda media.

Not wanting to admit the loss of control over part of the occupied territories, the Russian Defense Ministry reports that for three days Russia allegedly carried out an operation “to curtail and organize the transfer of the Izyum-Balakley group of troops” to the territory of the so-called DPR. But the "successes" of the Russian Federation did not end there either: the army allegedly managed to carry out "a number of distraction and demonstration activities with the designation of the real actions of the troops."

In addition, the official representative of the Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, claims that “more than two thousand Ukrainian and foreign fighters” and over “one hundred pieces of armored vehicles and artillery” were destroyed during these three days.

But photos of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Balakliya and Kupyansk, as well as messages from pro-Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels, suggest otherwise. While Putin was busy celebrating the 875th anniversary of Moscow, walking around Zaryadye and opening the Ferris wheel at VDNKh, the Armed Forces of Ukraine broke through the front near Kharkov. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive in the Kharkiv direction, they have already occupied the western part of the city of Kupyansk.
