The propagandist Margarita Simonyan suddenly began calling on Twitter and Telegram for the unification of Russians and Ukrainians, as well as reposting messages about the “great retreat of 1915” against the backdrop of the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Kharkiv direction.
Simonyan suddenly remembered the “general picture of the past”, when peoples are together, celebrating Victory Day, holding parades, and also learning Russian and Ukrainian. According to the propagandist, who supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine from the very beginning, another option is “impossible in the historical perspective.”
In addition, in the Telegram channel and Twitter, Simonyan decided to repost the message of the propagandist from the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Andrei Medvedev. In his channel, Medvedev wrote that “everything was already a hundred years ago,” then it was called the “Great Retreat” of 1915:
“The Russian army was leaving not only from Galicia. She left the territory of the empire itself – Poland and the Baltic states. Moreover, leaving Galicia, the army withdrew another 300 thousand Rusyns, Russian Galicians. Denikin's divisions held the bridge along which the refugees were walking. Then there was 1916 and the Brusilovsky breakthrough. Then, in fact, there should have been a victory. And from a military point of view, the Great Retreat was not a catastrophe. The front line was fixed and that's it, then the war of nerves, economies, ideologies went on. Meanings and ideas.
Then the propagandist said that in the end, "this situation" with the retreat ( which he does not name ) should unite everyone, but conclusions must be drawn. According to him, it will be difficult, Kyiv will disperse the "history of victory", and NATO "will be pushed to the end."
At the same time, Simonyan previously spoke about the capture of Ukraine “in two days” on Russian television instead of reposts about the “Great Retreat” and tweets about the unification of peoples.
