Three warrant officers convicted of stealing one and a half tons of beef, cod and butter from the elite division of the Russian Guard – Kommersant

In the Moscow region, three warrant officers – Ilya Biryukov, Sergey Leonov and Vladimir Derevyanko – were convicted of stealing from the elite division named after Dzerzhinsky (ODON) of the Russian Guard: last summer alone they took one and a half tons of beef, cod and butter, and then sold it all at the Vladimirsky Trakt market. They fully admitted their guilt in particularly large embezzlement (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), Kommersant reports .

The duties of ensigns included, in particular, control over the receipt of products from the warehouse and "the completeness of their laying in the boiler." Instead, portions for the military were limited to about a third, and chefs also reused meat products left over from previous meals. The container with the "surplus" was regularly taken out of the territory of the division.

According to investigators, the “group of food thieves” included three instructor cooks, a warehouse manager and a canteen manager. So far, only the cooks have confessed to their deeds and received sentences. The Reutov garrison court sentenced them to terms of 2 to 4 years in prison with a suspended sentence. The chefs were also fined from 250 to 400 thousand rubles.

Earlier in August, the "Dossier" found out that the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov, flew to the Seychelles for three years in a row in the company of the main supplier of products for the Russian Guard (Director of the Crimean plant "Friendship of Peoples" Boris Vaninsky), as well as other military men. In August 2018, Alexei Navalny, in his investigation, said that the National Guard spent more than two billion rubles to buy cabbage, carrots and potatoes from the Friendship of Peoples at a price three times higher than the retail market. After that, in 2019, the National Guard asked to classify information about its purchases, but this never happened. In 2021, the Russian Guard signed contracts worth more than 11 billion rubles with the Friendship of Peoples.
