NYT: American intelligence helped the Armed Forces with the preparation of the counteroffensive

In the summer of 2022, the Ukrainian authorities stepped up the exchange of intelligence with their American counterparts during the preparation of the counteroffensive. This allowed them to achieve significant success in the northeast direction, and the United States, in turn, was able to provide better and more relevant data. The New York Times writes about it.

According to the publication, initially the Ukrainian authorities carefully guarded their intelligence, fearing that they could point to weaknesses in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, over time, they changed their rhetoric and began to cooperate with the US to get more help.

U.S. officials decline to reveal what details of the counteroffensive plan Ukraine has shared or what advice the U.S. has received. However, according to the source of the NYT, the Americans "constantly" discussed with Kyiv how to stop Russia's advance to the east.

The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv direction reached its peak on September 10. On this day, there were reports of the liberation of Kupyansk, Izyum and Liman. Read more about the counteroffensive online at The Insider.
