The incumbent heads of United Russia won in the gubernatorial elections in almost all regions

In the elections of governors in almost all subjects of the Russian Federation where elections were held, the current heads of regions representing United Russia won. It is reported by RBC with reference to the CEC data.

According to official figures, United Russia candidates retained their posts in 14 regions.

80.21% was received by the governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov. In the Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeev (83.68% of the vote) will continue to hold his post as acting governor. In the Tambov region, the acting head of the regional administration, Maxim Egorov, won with 84.95% of the vote. Former head of Rosstat, acting governor of the Ryazan region Pavel Malkov won 84.55% of the vote.

In the Tomsk region, Acting Vladimir Mazur won the gubernatorial election (84.94% of the vote). The governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, also retained his post, he won the election with 65.78% of the vote. The incumbent governor of the Novgorod region, Andrey Nikitin, also won, with 77.03% of the vote. All winning candidates represent United Russia. Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov won with 69.15% of the vote.

However, in the Yaroslavl region, self-nominated Mikhail Evraev, the former deputy head of the FAS, won (82.31% of voters). Another self-nominee, Yuri Zaitsev, won the election of the head of the Republic of Mari El.

The current head of the republic, Alexei Tsydenov, became the head of Buryatia, 86.23% of voters voted for him. The head of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Brechalov (64.37%) also retained his posts.

Before the September elections in Russia, criminal and administrative cases were launched massively against independent candidates. On September 10, Nikita Verzun, a candidate for municipal deputies in Sokolniki, coordinator of Politics Space, was detained in Moscow. Before that, on August 26, Nikita Arkin, a candidate for deputies of the Basmanny district from Yabloko, a member of the Left Socialist Action, was detained . He is charged with an article on the demonstration of prohibited symbols (part 1 of article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). After the institution of criminal cases, candidates are deprived of the right to run for elections for the next year. On August 24, Nikolai Kasyan, a candidate for municipal deputies, was detained for the same reason. Similar charges were brought against candidates Marina Litvinovich, Mikhail Menshikov, and Vadim Korovin. and Tatyana Kasimova.
