Gennady Zyuganov: “There is a war going on, not a special operation. We need a general mobilization”

The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, speaking at a meeting in the State Duma, called the "special operation in Ukraine" a war and called for general mobilization, reports Sota.

“How is a special military operation different from a war? You can stop the military operation at any time. You cannot stop the war, it ends either in victory or defeat. I'm leading you to the idea that there is a war going on, and we have no right to lose it. Don't panic now. We need a complete mobilization of the country, we need completely different laws, ”Zyuganov is quoted by Sota.

The day before, State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Mikhail Matveev suggested that governors and deputies sign up for the front as volunteers.

In turn, the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Mikhail Degtyarev, stated a few days ago that he would go to Ukraine as a volunteer, but he could not, because he had no right to leave his responsible post. Against this background, residents of the Khabarovsk Territory created a petition with a proposal to “help the governor fulfill his dream, go to fight in the Donbass”, it was signed by several tens of thousands of people.

In the meantime, Russia continues to massively initiate criminal cases against citizens under articles on “fake news” and “discrediting” the army.

In particular, on July 8, Alexei Gorinov, Mundep of the Krasnoselsky District, was sentenced to 7 years in a general regime colony in Moscow under an article about military “fakes”. According to investigators, during a meeting of the Council of Deputies, the politician made a number of statements "containing data about the RF Armed Forces that do not correspond to reality." Gorinov called the “special military operation” in Ukraine a “war” and talked about the deaths of Ukrainian children.
