All teachers and school principals from the Kharkiv region who wanted to leave the region have been “transported to Russian territory,” says Sergey Kravtsov, head of the Russian Ministry of Education. The information that the Ukrainian military detained Russian teachers in the liberated territories is, according to him, a fake:
“It’s fake that there were teachers from the Russian Federation. Everyone who was on the territory of the Kharkiv region, school principals, teachers who expressed a desire to leave the Kharkiv region, had such an opportunity. We ensured this, today they are in the Belgorod, Rostov [regions], Krasnodar Territory.”
In the morning, the Ministry of Education said that all Russian teachers who went to teach in the occupied Ukrainian territories are located “where the situation is controlled by the Russian military and the military of the DPR and LPR.” This, however, contradicts the information of the Investigative Committee: the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed to open a criminal case into the detention of teachers in the Kharkiv region. According to the IC, they taught there according to Russian curricula. The Insider's source claims that we are talking about teachers from the Crimea, "DPR" and "LPR" with Russian passports, among the detainees about 90 local teachers who underwent retraining in the Russian Federation.
On September 12, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk announced the detentions of teachers. According to her, they were going to be judged under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code (violation of the laws and customs of war), which provides for imprisonment for a term of 8 to 12 years.
The Russian authorities actively sent hundreds of teachers to the occupied Ukrainian territories, promising double salaries and several thousand rubles per day. At the same time, there is a shortage of personnel in the Russian regions.
According to The Insider, Ukrainian teachers, under pressure from the occupation authorities in the occupied territories, removed Ukrainian textbooks from circulation. At the disposal of the publication there are documents on their withdrawal. At the same time, the textbooks were not written off or destroyed, but sent for storage.
However, even this can be regarded by the Ukrainian authorities as collaborationism . The Insider's source in law enforcement agencies of Ukraine claims that it is under this article that Ukrainian teachers are going to be judged. We are talking about Part 3 or Part 5 of Art. 111.1 of the Criminal Code: the punishment in the first case will be either corrective labor or up to 3 years in prison, in the second – from 5 to 15 years.
